Hi Folks,
I'm still trying to avoid the Root passwd prompt
just using AutoYast . Anas has been very helpful so
far, but it still isn't quite working.
I grabbed the passwd script from his document and I'm still not quite
sure what environment it is executed in.
This is our last exchange below :
PS- Is there a debug option for linuxrc that logs activity ?
I'd really be interested in what the file system looks like
during install. Here's my guess:
ramdisk ( initrd contents ) at /
install media: <server>:/Serverdir mounted as /var/adm/mount/suse
harddisk /mnt/
I would think that linuxrc has done a chroot to /mnt
and is extracting the media to /(slash) ...

HI.
Ok .
According to the write up on page 24 for the AutoYast
POST_INSTALL script,
If I place this password script on my NFS server as
<server>:/suse72/cpqbin/passwd and make it chmod +x .
It should appear on the client as :
/var/adm/mount/suse/cpqbin/passwd ?
After the install is completed .. and the NFS mount is still
there.
I've invoked it a couple ways in the info file and
it always complains it can't find the file in the
/var/adm/init/passwd.log .
WHAT SHOULD THE POST_INSTALL path look like ?
Do I use the $I ?
