Hi everybody!
I have trouble with the automatic installation of SLES 7 on a DELL Poweredge
2650 with an Broadcom BCM5701 network adapter (and some other adapters for
sure) installed.
The diskettes boots correctly, the modules are loaded and then ALICE (YAST?)
tries to mount the NFS-directory.
At this Point the Installation stops with the message: "An error occured
while trying to mount the nfs directory. Reason given by server: unknown
error".
But the strange thing: If I press OK here and go through the menues to start
the installation manually (without changing any settings and without booting
the machine!!), the installation works fine!
BTW: At the point the error appears, console 4 shows as last message:
"bcm5700: eth0 NIC Link is UP, 10 Mbps half duplex"
Does anybody have any ideas??
What is the difference between the automatic installation and the
installation by going through the menues?
Thanks for advice!
Kind regards
Nicolai Seuss
