Autsch, this is the second one. Sounds pretty nice, indeed. Good to know your
partnerships, contacts and certificates try to indicate having the best solution
on all hardware and OS available. Just doesn´t indicate that you´re willing and
able to drop anything at anytime like a hot potatoe, just because it´s just
minor numbers in your big business and for one Q your´re facing a loss.
Sorry, as explained in another mail, I´m totally disappointed at Compaq´s
marketing statements regarding Alpha-technology in 1999. I´ve heard all this
statements regarding the bright future for NT on Alpha as well. I do believe in
the enthusiasm of Linux-developer´s. Not in the enthusiasm of Compaq´s marketing
statements.
Sorry for my connotations, just moving over from an the alphant-list, and this
list was outraged since 23. of August. Many of the alphant-users are switching
either to Linux on Alpha or NT on Athlon, and nobody puts any trust in Compaq´s
marketing statements anymore. Alpha-technology is something you just bought
recently. Maybe you should have left Alpha-marketing truly to API, and find an
agreement with Samsung and M$ to keep this horse running. Compaq´s role in this
play to many customers is just disappointing in the end.
