Subject: Wrong date after install

Hi,

I've installed SuSE Linux 6.1 AXP today on my DEC Alpha (Noname).

I notice that the date of most of the directories is September 19, 2019.

When I started the systemdate was correct, and it still is. New
files/dirs get the correct date (September 19, 1999).

Why is the date during installation 20 years in the future? Can this
give problems in the future?
