    Thanks for the advice i'll give it a try.

    I think i may be onto something as well with the NCR driver problem. I
    booted from a SuSE 6.1 floppy which has a kernel containing the NCR drivers
    and the system booted fine. The problem is now that as the network card
    driver is a module, the 2.2.13 modules i have won't be compatible with the
    2.2.9 kernel so i have no ethernet access.

    I think i'll have to do the following:

    1)Reinstall 6.3 this time remembering to install the kernel source code

    2)Boot with the 6.1 floppy and build my own 2.2.13 kernel with NCR
    drivers,TGA support and ethernet support built in.

    3)Copy this to the boot partition and hopefully that should all work.

    Unless someone knows better and can save me some work!!
