Hi List,
While upgrading my Alpha box with the latest SuSE 6.4 version I ran
into a problem. The file /var/lib/rpm/requiredby.rpm
ended up giving input/output errors stalling the upgrade about
mid-way through. Is there a way to repair this file? will rpm
--rebuilddb do that? What happens if I just disable the file (e.g.,
by renaming it) and then try to rebuild the database? The fault is
probably due to a disk problem as I ran into other bad blocks on
it recently. So, in the long term a disk replacement seems in order.
I guess, I was just wondering whether I could easily complete the
upgrade on the limping system until I get a replacement disk in.
Best regards, Alex.
