    indeed, i do have the TGA graphics adapter. when i boot with -fl 4 it does try
    to boot the tga kernel but it fails in the same way.

    What kind of graphics adaptor you are using?
    Is it a TGA? If so, please use vm_tga.gz instead of vm_full.gz or have a look
