Subject: Resending: CPU HALT on boot...

Sorry for resending this but I haven't received any
    responses
to my last post and I'm still stuck. I'm struggling with a
CPU HALT that happens right after I get the "Ok, installing
    kernel" message.

Could someone explain to me the difference between these
    files: /boot/vmlinux.gz, /boot/vmlinuz and /boot/bootlx and
review my install sequence one more time, please?

I suspect my error is there mainly because I do not quite
understand the workings of those files. I should point out
that /boot/vmlinux.gz does not exist on my system.

    Thanks!
    jrh

Based on some more input I re-did my install procedure.
When I boot from my HD everything goes real good right up
until I get the "Ok, booting kernel" message - then CPU
    HALT.

Oh, I should mention that I do not have a /boot/vmlinux.gz
file. I do have /boot/vmlinuz and /boot/bootlx files. The
command I used to boot my HD is:

    >>>boot dka0 -file "vmlinuz" -flags"ro root=/dev/sda4"

    Here's my system:

    Here's the install sequence:

It starts booting, recognizes block 0 as boot block,
recognizes 4 partitions ok, switches from the "blue"

gets to the message: "Ok, booting kernel..." then I
    get a CPU HALT.
