/boot/vmlinux.gz should be the correkt gzipped kernelfile, I can't imagine
where /boot/vmlinuz comes from (There is no such kernelfile on SuSE 6.3,
at least I didn't find one)
So, which kernel did you install ?
/boot/bootlx is the aboot bootsector image, that is copied to the
bootsector by swriteboot.
