Subject: Ide DVD/CD Woes

    Hi,
    This isn't exclusively a SuSE problem... more of a hardware problem. I wish to
    connect both a CD + DVD drive to a PC164LX Motherboard... no matter what
    combinations of channel and or Master/Slave settings, when I connect both of
    them to the motherboard, AlphaBIOS ( Ver 5.68-1) doesn't recognise any devices
    on the IDE Channels... has anyone come across this problem before and if so how
    did you solve it...

    Also on the previous "lame" thread, (of which I missed most) were there any
    comparisons made with egcs... (I'm downloading ccc to try at the moment)
