    I also get this error: "Error seeking in /dev/kmem", but with me it's
    "symbol #serial".
    I also get warnings from the kernel for the SCSI-controller (NCR53c8xx)
    from time to time
    that the memory address 0x8000 - 0x8017 (or something like that) is
    already in use.
    I could not get rid off it.
    I'll look for my boot.msg file and have a closer look. I'll tell you
    what I find.
