Dear SuSE-AXP users,
I am going to do this upgrade in the next days.
1) To prepare for it, I wanted to check the SDB at the URL
given in the 7.0 book:
http://sdb.suse.de/sdb/de/html/bugs70axp.html
However, this address is not working - just a typo,
or a severe problem ?
(The "errata" page does not mention anything relevant ...)
2) The machine boots via ARC / Alpha-BIOS, no SRM installed.
Is there any need to change to SRM ?
3) I would prefer to do an upgrade, not a new installation.
(Yes, I did my full tape backup before ...)
Are there any known problems ?
4) Can / should I go from 6.1 to 7.0 directly,
or should I do 6.1 -> 6.3 and 6.3 -> 7.0 as separate steps ?
5) The SDB mentions an error on page 20, the "initrd" parameter
is missing for the installation "milo".
My understanding is that this parameter is required only
for initial installation boot - does it also apply to the
upgrade and/or the later installed kernel ?
Thank you for all hints,
Joerg Bruehe
