Subject: Window flashes at "menuconfig" (SuSE 7.0, KDE 1)

    Dear all,

    on my newly-upgraded machine (see mail last Friday:
    an "Avanti" (AS 200 4/166) with TGA graphics card, 96 MB RAM)
    I am just using "menuconfig" to build the suitable kernel
    (2.2.16).

    Whenever I make any input, the window flashes back to its
    contents at the time "menuconfig" was started, and then
    flashes to the new contents.
    This happens for both "local input" (switching a setting)
    and for entering/leaving the "help" screen.

    I do not remember these flashes from my last kernel build
    (SuSE 6.1, kernel 2.2.9).

    Do I have false memories, is this a known symptom,
    do I have something wrong, or any other comments ?
