    hi all,

    When I install SuSE 7.0 on a dpw500au with 250M ram, 2scsi disks and SRM
    console 7.2-1 , I get the error message:

    "CPU0 halted
    Error code 7
    Machine Check while in PAL-mode
    PC = 18400"

    or -without any apparant different situation- it says:

    "CPU0 halted
    Error code 7
    Machine Check while in PAL-mode
    PC = 18100"

    I'm running memory check, and it doesn't report any errors... X was a
    possible problem before, but now I'm nit even getting passed the initial
    yast setup on a clean system.
    Is there *any* reason for this message to appear?

    Also: I've opened the case in order to take a look at the mobo leds...
    Only: I don't know the meaning of the different leds state ;( Is there any
    documentation to be found on that?
    (It seems odd to me that an internal led would be on all the time duriong
    normal errorless operation. Can anybody confirm this?

    I've posted about this problem before, and somebody pointed out some things
    that might just have resolved the problem (although afterwards I wasn't
    able to boot from the disk anymore). But I have to reinstall the system,
    and I can't even get passed installing the base system.

    thx,
    Gr.
