I'm now having trouble with ethernet. I have a stock XP1000 with it's
builtin ethernet controller. During the install I'm asked which eth0
module I want to load. I tried DE4*5 and Tulip.

The DE4*5 just gives me insmod failure messages at boot time, and Tulip
causes a segmentation fault and stops the boot process!

Again, I don't recall what I did to get this working in 6.4 but I thought
    that
    DE4xx module worked.

Overall, I am very disappointed with SuSE 7.1 on Alpha:

      - Kernel 2.4 is named differently but no mention of this in the manual.
      - No support for very common ATI RagePro (Mach64). This worked in 6.4.
      - Shouldn't installation procedure auto configure ethernet on the XP1000?
      - All this and I've only had it for 2 days.

    /Michael
