    Subject: [suse-axp] SuSE 7.1axp and Milo 2.2 / Matrox Millenium I

    Hi,

i have an PC164 Board with 256MB RAM and a 21164A CPU (console is an ARC).
When trying to boot Milo 2.2 deliverd with SuSE 7.1axp the following happens:

    Linux Loader V1.5
    ...

    System Partition is OSLOADPARTITION=scsi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)
    Load File name is OSLOADFILENAME=\os\linux\milo22
    Load Path is scsi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\os\linux\milo22
    OSLOADOPTIONS=boot sda2:vm_24.gz root=/dev/sdb2

    Opening file scsi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\os\linux\milo22 ...
    Loading file at 0x80000000 ...

    Getting firmware parameters ...

... Memory size is 0x10000000 bytes

Setting up arguments for Milo @ 0x801FFC00
Setting up memory size for Milo @ 0x801FFE00
Setting up memory size for Milo @ 0x801FFF00

Swapping to PALcode ar 0x0 ...

Ok i renamed the milo to milo22 to be able to boot the old milo.
And then the machine hung completely (for at least 5 Minutes ;)

I then tried to use milo from /cdrom/unsorted/disks-2.0/PC164
Additionally the install image from that directory contain kernelmodules for
the 2.2.16 Kernel and not 2.2.19. Therefor i used /cdrom/disks/install.
With milo 2.0.35 i was able to install SuSE 7.1axp (thats where i am writing
    this mail :)
But i am still not able to run the 2.4.4 Kernel (may be it is because milo
    2.2 is not running).
Any hints to get 2.4.4 booted ?

I also tried Xfree86 4.0.2 but it seems really unstable for the Matrox
Millenium I 8MB in True ColorMode (24 Bit). I went back to Xfree86 3.3.6 (in
    32 Bit Mode).
Does anybody else had the same experience with this card ?

    Greets,
       Juergen
