Subject: [suse-oracle] Database creation fails

    Hi,

    the creation of the first Database on our new SuSE SLES 7 Server fails with
    the following error:

    oracle@sope10:/orabase > ORACLE_SID=AK05
    oracle@sope10:/orabase > export ORACLE_SID
    oracle@sope10:/orabase > sqlplus /nolog

    SQL*Plus: Release 8.1.7.0.0 - Production on Sa Okt 5 14:00:00 2002

    SQL> connect sys/oracle as sysdba
    Connected to an idle instance.
    SQL> startup nomount pfile = "/orabase/admin/AK05/pfile/initAK05.ora"
    ORA-24323: value not allowed
    ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
    SQL>

    The "orarun.rpm" is installed, serveral Patches too.
    Does anybody has an idea?
