I noticed that an import on 8.2 took nearly 10 hours whereas on 8.0 it took
nearly 2 hours.
On my 8.2 system, I have found it seems to depend on the file system.
I created an EXT3 and a REISERFS filesystem, and identical Oracle9i default
General Purpose databases on each file system, and imported the same table
into each database.
The database on EXT3 takes 2 minutes to import, whereas the REISERFS takes
10 minutes.
