in 8.1.7.4.12 some bugs about memory leaks
perhaps patch before migrate os
or check if you have dead processes still consuming sga pga and unix memory

Objet : [suse-oracle] Oracle 8.1.7.4 & RH Advanced Server
Hi All!!
Try to describe my problem. My Oracle Server 8.1.7 works on RH AS (4G
RAM). I have about 200-250 connections. The maximum size of connection
about 60-70 meg, but after one week uptime some connections take all
memory (about 500 meg each) and server crash down.
Whose problem is it? RH or Oracle?
How can I sovle this problem?
P.S.: now I planing to install SLES8
