Hello,
I am currently trying to get oracle 8.1.7 working on SuSE 8.2. After some
known problems i managed to install oracle using 'runInstaller'. That all
worked fine.
Following i installed the patch for glibc (glibc-2.1.3-stubs.tar.gz).
But now when i try to run dbassist to create the databases, it crashes. The
only message i get is :
'/opt/oracle/product/8.1.7/bin/dbassist: line 107: 26978 Killed
$JRE_EXEC -Duser.dir=$USER_DIR -classpath $CLASSPATH DBCreateWizard
$ARGUMENTS'
I am using jre 1.1.8 v3 from blackdown and that is all working because the
runInstaller is working.
Does anyone have had this problem and solved it? I really do not know what to
do next.
