Hello,
I am using the SUSE9 VMWare image delivered with the kit and I am having problems configuring the ethernet interface.
Configured the network under YAST --> Network Devices --> Network Card . Tried using DHCP and using a static IP-adress, but the eth0 interface can not be configured in any way.
This is what is seen:
linux:~ # ifstatus eth0
eth0 device: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] 79c970 [PCnet32 LANCE] (rev 10)
ERROR: No configuration found for eth0
linux:~ # ifconfig -a
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:0C:29:F0:E2:E6
inet6 addr: fe80::20c:29ff:fef0:e2e6/64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST NOTRAILERS RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
....
This looks like an inet6 address and no inet IP-adress is specified here.
Can anyone tell me how to get this network configured properly?
Thanks in advance,
Klaas.
