I want to change IP addresses of a bunch of machines from the command line:
# ip address add <ip> dev eth0
but how do I do it so it is still effective after reboot. I can set it
in the file
ifcfg-eth-id-<hex> but I cannot determine which file maps eth0 to it.
I've a couple of machines with 3-4 network cards. I want to know which
file/command maps these cards to the interfaces eth0, eth1 ..
For example the file "/etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth-id-00:11:43:d1:81:33"
maps to eth0 but I couldn't find the file where this is mapped.
Many thanks
Andy
