Subject: [suse-sles-e] Linux version ?

Hello List,

What is the equivalent of /etc/redhat-release (or /etc/issue) in SLES9.
I have installed the eval. copy of SLES9 and can't find the Linux
version from any file/command.

This is what "uname -a" and "cat /proc/version" returns...

sh-2.05b# uname -a
Linux abc 2.6.5-7.97-default #1 Fri Jul 2 14:21:59 UTC 2004 i686 i686
i386 GNU/Linux
sh-2.05b# cat /proc/version
Linux version 2.6.5-7.97-default (geeko@buildhost) (gcc version 3.3.3
(SuSE Linux)) #1 Fri Jul 2 14:21:59 UTC 2004
sh-2.05b#

There is no /etc/*release* or /etc/issue*.

sh-2.05b# ls -l /etc |grep -i rel | wc -l
0
sh-2.05b#
sh-2.05b# ls /etc/iss*
ls: /etc/iss*: No such file or directory
sh-2.05b#

Thanks,
Ajay
