The web browser (Firefox in this case) is responsible for checking for
the file favicon.ico at the root directory of the webserver. Not all
browsers check for it, but Firefox does. You won't find the icon file
referenced in your configs anywhere. The favicon.ico is a small picture
that shows up in the address bar, tab bar or bookmarks for a particular
site.
Examples:
http://www.yahoo.com/favicon.ico
http://www.google.com/favicon.ico
This doesn't solve your problem (but hopefully the suggestion below
does).

Hi Hans,
Have a look at the Server-Configuration. On my SuSE 9.2 the default
configuration includes a DENY-Statement for everything, so you have to
explicitly allow your client to access your Server.
