Thanks for the info. I thought perhaps the kernels might differ between
the various flavors. I thought I read somewhere that SLES had better
I/O than Pro. I am also curious about numa. My limited understanding
tells me you would use it instead of smp. So far I've only used smp
kernels in two cpu machines and am not sure what benefit numa would give
me, if any. I might have thought that SLES for up to 16 sockets would
use a numa kernel by default instead of smp.
