All documentations I know describe it in another way. The above will
not allow YOU updates with autoyast2, too.

Because if you install from HTTP or NFS you will give some options to
linuxrc, which you cannot use with DVD. This makes the difference.

Which is not true, SLES9 still contains a lot of more data. Much more.
