Well I've tried two out of three workarounds:
1. MODULES_LOADED_ON_BOOT="bcm5700"
Still gives me the "logger" error
2. INITRD_MODULES="...bcm5700"
Still gives the "logger" error.
The third workaround method is confusing. It says to put
WAIT_FOR_INTERFACES=3, but in our case (SLES9 SP2) it's already has
value of 20. Is that not enough? How much should I increase it? 30?
60?
What's interesting is that using bonding mode=0 results in
non-operational bond0 interface, while bonding mode=1 produces
operational bond0, but makes eDirectory starting painfully slow. In
both cases the "logger" error is received on the console and logged
into boot.msg
