Netvault was actually built to run on Linux and they later added the
windows version of the package so you have your choice as to where you
run your backup server software.
We had run it under SLES 9 for a time then switched it to a win2003
server. worked well in both cases.
Not to add fuel to the Arcserve dislike club but we also ran brightstor
Arcserve for 7 years liking the product but had major trouble with a
version at that time (I think it was version 10 or something like
that?) Thus we made the choice to get away from that product.
