SuSe have a good document about autoinstallation and network installation.
Few tips, in addition to them:
- if you run system backup, you wil have xml file with autoinstallation
profile (in addition to the file archive); you can (recommended) edit it
manually and make autoinstallation profile from it;
- you can open autoinstallation menu,. open default profile (which is, in
reality, your server;'s configuration), save it with another name and then
use it for auto installation;
- be careful; in some cases (backup for example) yast can create
autoinstallation xml with the wrong syntax (for example, backup writes
package names into the tag name, so guess what happen if name looks as g++ -
it broke xml parser).
- you must use kernel from SP3 for tftpboot for network installation, not
from release - I mean, that if you auto install SPx, kernel in tftpboot
should be from the same SPx.
