We never released a beta that was 100% useless.
Barely any of the (especially early) betas included full functionality,
though. Surprising as it might be, but it is the nature of beta versions
to contain major, visible bugs. Some are documented with workarounds
(like "use network installation if the CD installation is broken), some
not.

Everyone who is in the closed beta program has a channel to report
problems. For the public RC2, there is an email address for feedback,
too. If you are referring to the beta given out at BrainShare: That was
a pure marketing-relase, and at the time of BrainShare so old
developement-wise, that feedback would have been pointless anyway.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Of course I have authority over
whom (not) to chose for the beta program. If people get access for other
reasons, than they should ask their other source for a feedback channel.

Very much so.

Correct, because we can't process it. Incorrect as for the word "few".

I never said that. On the contrary, I stated that there is no bug-free
software that does more than printing "Hello world".

I'm not aware of any false statement I made. On the other hand, I can
list a number of false statements you made, starting with the very first
one quoted in this email.

"we all" == "you", correct?

Just seeing our sales numbers and the feedback we get from our customers
after release, your claim does not seem to be very justified. The huge
majority of customers don't have major problems. Of course, there will
always be issues left. If we would aim for absolut maximum quality, we
would be ready to ship SLES7 in about 2015. Certified for computers
mostly encountered in museums, by then.
