It's all strange.

What I did usually:
- downloaded CD's; mounted them (as iso files) and COPY them all flat into
the new directory (such as SLES9-AMD-SP3, for example).
Not into CD1, CD2 CD3 (as Install server do) but just copy them into this
directory.

After it I have 2 options:
- (1) Use YAST2 and run 'CD update' using directory as update source - works
well;
- (2) Add directory as installation soucre and move it up in the list.

In addition, you can try to add YOU files (they are somewhere in /var/lib
directory' as an installation source, just as a set of RPM's,
but it is better to use ServicePack disk(s).)
