I use ProBIND2 which allows to configure the whole set of DNS-es (see
probind2.sf.net).
But if you just need simple DNS server, existhing yast functionality works
fine.

I too must agree. The FHS is there for a reason and I like that.
However I must say that the DNS module does have significant
shortcomings that need to be addressed.
I haven't tested with 10 yet but 9.3 corrupts named.conf
and some master files repeatedly when edited from withing the module.
I gave up on trying to import files from other systems.

No, you are not familiar with the Filesystem Hierarchy Standard. The files
are in the right place.
The problem with the YaST DNS server module is that it doesn't work. I have
just recently tried to use it on a fully updated system. It has created
duplicate entries in named.conf, it gave an error when saving to LDAP, it
erased the root hints. It was utter brain-damage.
I had to edit named.conf to fix it.
