Toll, it is all pretty simple.

If script have a correct header (take it from skeleton), then chkconfig
on/off insert and remove it from rc3 or rc5, r you can use Yast GUI
(Runlevel editor) to do the same.

You can symlink (or link) scripts into /etc/init.d/rc{3,5}.d manually
instead, it will work (but you will not be able tyo use Runlevel editor).

Subject: [suse-sles-e] startup scritps

Hello all. I have sles9-sp3 and I have a few scripts in /etc/init.d that I
want to execute when system starts.

It seems tedious to make a skeleton script, then insserv that script. Is
this
the recommended way?

Can I not copy the scripts (which accept start and stop) I want to run into
runlevel 5 folder?

Just seems wierd coming from FreeBSD.

Thanks!
