3 short questions.
1) Are there plans to release SLES9 SP4? We cna see a huge number of
important patches (up to absolutely other OCFSv2 release)
in online updates, so it's a time to expect a pacthset.
2) Do anyone installed SLES9 SP3 on DELL 2950 or 1950 servers (SAS disks)?
DELL offers only SLES10 (which is not production-ready yet)
and don't offer SLES9 on this servers, and it makes me to suspect that this
hardware is not supported again.
3) What's known about SLES9 backport to such servers as DELL 2950 (I mean -
new hardware)? For now, SLES9 is the only production-grade SLES
linux, and the only one which have good vendor's compatibility (oracle ||
Veritas for example), so I must be sure that we can
stay with SLES9 (without jumping to 10) for a few next years. Some time ago,
we was forced to jusp from SLES8 because Novell did not support ET64T on
this product line; I don't like to see the same with SLES9 now (it became
relatively stable 1/2 year ago only!).
