Hi list,
My SLES server seems to be rebooting without rhyme or reason (that I can see,
that is).
Unfortunately, I'm not sure if it's a hardware or a software problem (or
both), and that is (part of) what I'm trying to elucidate.
Already tried:
--------------
o looked at /var/log/messages, but could not find anything obvious.
o checked that the disks aren't full
o checked that there is no cron job that would do a restart
So my question is, where else do I look/what else can I do?
BTW I looked for archives/FAQ before posting this question (by sending mail to
suse-sles-e-faq@suse.com and suse-sles-e-info@suse.com), but it seems they
are not available by email. Are they available in some other way?
Details
-------
OS version: SuSE Enterprise Linux Server 9 (x86_64), version 9 patchlevel 3
Hardware: HP Proliant DL585 w/ 4 Opteron Dual core
Problem occurrence: reboots happen about once a week, with a slight
'preference' for weekends
(I don't quite know what else might be relevant - this is precisely part of
the problem...)
Any ideas?
All help greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
My apologies if this is the wrong list (but please tell me where I should
post!)
