You run their tools -> system dont work -> you can support.,
Vs. You dont run their tools -> system works -> you dont need their support.
Both approaches can work, but usually their tools creates problems moer than
eliminate this problems.
(See DELL tools - a huge stack of daemons doing almost nothing useful).
(Of course, it is all on case by case basis - I run DELL tools -:)).

You will find you are not supported by the vendor if you dont run their
tools. As well as not being able to detect hardware problems.
