I'm not sure but I think it depends on how it was configured before
the build. One of the
config options is whether to use syslog or a sudo log and what syslog
facility to use.
As you said, sudo logging on Suse is done to a different file so I
think you will have to build it from scratch if you really want to log
to syslog.
I may be wrong, so let's see what others say (maybe you could try to
ask the same question on the suse professional mailing list, you will
probably get more answers)
