New package management system have it's benefits (compatible with few
different soucrces) and have a HUGE number of problems.
Very slow start (attempt to read all remote sources so it can takes a week
to start), no installation source priorities, no autoyast integration, no
YOU service anymore, registratioin can't be done by curses yast (not x11),
some functions are totally broken in SLES0 release (fixed in SP1 beta
already).
So question is, can we treat _can't use SDK in auto installation_ as a bug
(so open a ticket and hope to see it fixed_ or just
should switch to something else after all? I found new problems with my
single test SLES10 every day, and it became a real
adventure now (hopefully I can wipe it out when I became tired and use old
solid SLES9, and hopefully it is lab development system).
(What is interesting - no problems if use SLED10 or OpenSuSe10.2 as a
desktop - it is really a great system, and I know many people prefering it
to Ubuntu. But as a server... brr, road is extremely rocky!!!)
