Yes, but you got a chance to find a critical failures BEFORE you released
final version. For the zero price.
Don't count customers as dumb - they are smarter than most of your beta
testers and can make a huge help. For example, we have
few issues in mailing list here:
- bad HP performance
- OCFSv2 behavior
- installation sources in yast2
- autoinstall
having open beta for SP1 RC*, you could get feedback from these people and
possible reveal a critical flaws (or at least add
information into the release notes - when you see a minor bug which you
can't fix in RC* you always can add it into 'RELEASE NOTES - caveats
section).
O.B. != 'you can go and download', it is at least 'anyone woth subscription
can request access, explaining what exactly he is going to test'.
