I've installed an Intel 10Gb/s CX4 NIC into an HP DL385 server running
SLES10.
lspci reports the card as:
06:09.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Unknown device 109e (rev
02)
According to the Intel site, the 10Gb/s card uses the ixgb driver.
doing a "modprobe ixgb" gives the following in /var/log/messages:
Apr 18 09:33:44 hq-hls1 kernel: Intel(R) PRO/10GbE Network Driver -
version 1.0.100-k2-NAPI
Apr 18 09:33:44 hq-hls1 kernel: Copyright (c) 1999-2005 Intel
Corporation.
But no new device is listed in ifconfig -a
A search on support.novell.com for ixgb reveals patches for SLES9 to
update the drive to support 10gb, but nothing for SLES10.
Is this card support in the stock SLES10, or do I need to use the Intel
Linux driver ?
