I'm not sure if it's related, (probably not, but who knows..? But it never hurts to tell the list about it)

I recently installed a sles10sp1 software raid5 system, with 4*500 gig disks on one controller. It took over 700 seconds to complete a certain disk subsys benchmark (the disktest tool from scalix). This is _very_ long. (all installation settings were default, except runlevel 3 instead of 5)

Then I installed sles9sp3, again software raid5, same machine, same hardware, default install, runlevel 3, and that installation completed the same benchmark in under 50 seconds.

The  difference is that major, that I probably have some kind of hardware incompatibility or so, because even IF there are problems concerning software raid on sles10sp1, I can hardly believe that the difference would be this big...

Regards,
Mourik Jan
