May be, bug is inside YOU or even caused by running older YOU server on new
files before upgrading YOU itself.
If I take SLES9 SP3, upgraded to the online update with kernel 257 or 287
yousing YOU (freezed on December-5 approx - I do not run automated
syncronization because it tends to broke YOU server after they change YOU
schemas), and use SP4 CD-s (mounted on the network as ISO files), then it
works.

If I syncronize YOU without -r, it catch something which requires kernel 307
and shows syncronization error. If I
resyncronize it with -r (reload all) syncronization pass thru, but resulting
YOU do not work.

It looks as YOU syncronization error, but I can't confirm until I got back
to the office, take SLES9 SP3 on vmware and experimented (tomorrow, more
likely).

It is not a critical bug, IF you know how to recover:
- resynconize YOU by
  * installing all patches on YOU sever itself using direct connection to
Novell
  * running syncronization scripts with -r option
- If server still try to load kernel 307, add SP4 to the installation
sources and upgrade to the kernel 308.

But if you DON'T know - you have a lot of fun.

-:)

YOU definitely have a bug (but we remember that SLES10 have not YOU at all
and use another upgrading system, much worst),
because it should not allow to create insinsistant content when rinning
older server on the new data - it should just stop
on last consistant content and require YOU server upgrade before you got
more. But I am not sure, if it is this particular bug which I hit with SP4
upgrade.

This sounds like the bug is within the YOU server files, but not within
the ISOs.
