SLES9.3 have KDE as a main window manager (and it was really very good). I'd
better avoid Gnome on it. If you want gnome, try OpenSuSe 10.2 (it have
gnome as a primary win manager).

(Even if gnome should work in 9.3, it was not widely used so bugs are very
likely).

Subject: [suse-sles-e] Help for a true SLES 9.3 newbie

Hello everyone. I just installed a copy of SLES 9.3 for the very first
time. Everything went well, until I tried logging in using Gnome
instead of KDE. Is the former included in a completely default, CD
based installation? I'm not a big fan of the latter. If not, how do I
add it? The manual at
http://www.novell.com/documentation/sles9/pdfdoc/sles_9_admin_guide/sles
_9_admin_guide.pdf is a tad overwhelming for a newbie such as myself.
Can anyone point me in the direction of, say, more basic how-to
documents and/or websites?

Many thanks,

John
