Thank you for your well-founded analysis. The problems we're having are
not with the iso images. Those are working and unchanged since a couple
of weeks ago. The problem is with the distribution system.

Well, my impression is different, but I don't have the big picture. Over
a year ago we had bandwith problems which were solved by deploying the
same technology that is apparently causing problems now. There have been
no problems for over a year now in the SLE area.

Yes, and usually you can't paint the warning sign big enough for
this. ;-)
But in this case the problem is different. And definitely on our side.
