James,
Sounds similar to this:

So setting:
[global]
host msdfs = no
Should get you going.

Greetings all,
I have a SLES 10 server running Samba and acting as PDC (there is no
BDC). Most of the domain members are Windows XP Pro. There is only one
PC running Windows Vista Business. Vista has been able to connect to and
copy/create files on the Samba shares.
I upgraded the machine to SLES 10 SP1 this week. Since the upgrade
Vista has been unable to view the files inside the Samba shares. From
Vista I can browse the shares and connect to (no errors on the Windows
side). When I open a share to copy a file there are no files shown.
Is anyone else experiencing problems with Samba and Windows Vista
since SP1?
Thanks,
James
