We are taking nearly 10 TB of data in a test.... The sponsor wants a
backup copy made - so 2 sets of disks for one raid unit were purchased.
I tried LVM, but it scares me. It does not like to move between
servers. Worse, try replacing one lvm volume with another. For
example, I configured disk set #1 to be 5 x 2 TB volumes. Created
filesystem, tested. Removed and replaced with disk set #2. Did the
same. Removed and replaced with set #1. Now nothing shows up
immediately. Using lvscan I see an inactive volume group. Activate it
and was able to mount it, use it. Now, replace set #1 with #2. NOTHING
shows up with lvscan. At this point lose confidence in lvm solution and
look for another one. I'll have to look into this GPT being mentioned....
