Right. The weak dependencies follow the Debian model. Rpm5 wasn't
existing when we designed SUSE Linux 10.

SUSE Linux 10 uses rpm-4.4, as defined by the LSB standard. This
version of rpm does not support weak dependencies, those are handled
by the dependency solver in the update stack.
I'd love to see closer cooperation between OpenSUSE (being the base
for future Enterprise products) and rpm5.org.
