Hi Ron. Thanks for replying. I would update again, but the only update
left in Software Updater is for language translations, and it's
optional, not suggested or required. Is there somewhere else I should
look for updates?

One more round of updating packages should get you straight. I assume
you
updated packages, then installed kernel-source.
