We have been implementing SLES10 SP1 on XenEnterprise and have seen great
performance. We also have in running as a VM on VMware Server on SLES9
with success. The last VMware Server work well with SLES10 SP1 as the
host.

My preference to roll-out on new hardware would be
XenEnterprise/XenServer/XenExpress vs the Xen in SLES10 since in most
instances I would want to run at least 1 Windows VM.

For production use, I would still stick with VMware. For an SMB, I'd
go with VMware Server then purchase VirtualCenter for VMware Server
along with some basic support. That's still much more cost effective
than purchasing Virtual Infrastructure.

Xen is getting better, and I've seen Novell press releases about large
companies using or beginning to implement Xen. But I think Xen is
still isn't a mature enough technology to use in serious production
environments.
