    Hi there!

I don't know if this is a german, english or multi-lingual list, so I try it
in english, though german is my native language.

I installed SuSE 7.0 for Sparc RC2, german version, on an Ultra 5 just a
    minute ago.

It was the first time I used yast2 (on i386, I always use yast1). Nice
    thing!

But I have found some litte inconveniencies:

    - - In the monitor selection screen, there are NO Sun monitors. As most
Sparc/UltraSparc are sold together with original Sun monitors, I think they
should be selectable in the menu.

    - - There are some packages selected by default that don't seem to make any
sense on the Sparc platform to me. For example the USB package - I don't
know of any Suns with usb, and do those PCI-cards with usb bus work in a PCI
sun? There are more of those things that seem to be left over from x86
architecture, but I don't remember what they were exactly.

    - - The system starts up in XDM mode. I can't switch to text mode. The
    <ALT><CTRL><F-Key> doesn't work as usual.

    - - The english language README file on the first CD tells me that I have
    installed a "SuSE 6.2"... :-)

Well done! I'm surely going to buy the Sparc distribution when it is
    available.

    Yours
    Oliver
